Marble is considered by some to be the most luxurious of all the countertop substances.

While beautiful and considered to be a unique and natural countertop, Marble can easily stain as it is very porous. Sealant is required to protect the marble and may need to be reapplied every year or two. Like Granite, you can find various colors and patterns in exotic marble slabs.

Marble is the softest of the three countertops and can be scratched or chipped the most easily but with proper care can last lifetimes and is a gorgeous addition to any room. Marble may darken slightly over time.
